A Breakfast Cookie Was Ate

24 Dec

Merry Christmas Eve!!

This morning I woke up early and Joe and I got our walk on for 25 minute in the freezing cold.  It was so foggy out I could barely see 2 blocks ahead.  When I got back from the walk I did 16 reps x 3 sets of overhead tricep extensions.  I know I should have done them yesterday but my body needed a rest day.  Rest is very important!

Today will be totally different though.  I only have to work a 1/2 day so I plan to get a long run in this afternoon (hoping for 8+ miles), have the last day of push ups to complete before the big test on Sunday and the move of the day for today.

Mini recap time — Last night I cooked up some individual meatloaves for dinner.

I made a total of 4 so tonight’s dinner is already done!  These puppies were filled with ground turkey, sautéd shallot, garlic, spinach, an egg white, ww bread crumbs, worcestershire sauce and then topped with a mixture of ketchup and worcestershire sauce.  So good.  Along the side we had a shredded carrot salad mixed with a bit of chipotle almond butter and I had a baked yam (Jacob had a baked potato).  I’ve never eating a baked yam before and now I know that I prefer sweet potatoes.

Last night I made a breakfast cookie by following Gina’s recipe and ate it this morning.  In my breakfast cookie there was some oats, roasted cashew/almond cinnamon butter, chocolate Designer Whey, soy milk and a smashed banana.

I liked the texture… you definitely eat it with a spoon but it was way too sweet for me.  I received a ton of chocolate and vanilla Designer Whey sample packs at a Race for the Cure health expo back in September and haven’t used them yet.  I think I’m just not accustom to regular manufactured sweetness since I eat my oats without any added sweetener in the morning.   I’ll have to try out the vanilla protein and see if it’s less sweet… if not I may just have a giveaway in order 🙂

Now for the move of the day.  Thursday is the day to focus on yoga and today I bring to you the Warrior I pose.  I hope you enjoy this low-intestity pose.
